Video game players, young and old, love playing retro games. One group
gets to relive their childhoods, while the other gets to experience something they
had missed out on by being born too late. Problem is, retro games are tough to get.
The big retail stores only stock their shelves with modern games, and shopping
online comes with shipping risks. They could receive something different from
what they ordered, or it could be heavily damaged.
Thankfully, Sanford residents are in luck with Hudson’s Video Games,
located in Seminole Town Center. This small retail shop on the mall’s second floor
has classics and underrated gems for every console in history. The Sega Dreamcast,
Nintendo 64, Gameboy Advance, Atari 2600, and so much more.
If you’ve never played any of them before, you can get a taste of their fun
through free-to-play demo stations. During my visit, there was one for the popular
platformer Super Mario 64.
You’ll even find shelves dedicated to original Japanese versions of games,
primarily those for the Famicom and Super Famicom. It’s a real treat for the most
dedicated of vintage collectors.
Stores that sell retro games directly are few and far between in America.
Hudson’s Video Games is a treasure trove of preserved blasts from the past,
essentially a museum of playable relics you can own yourself. To ensure that we
can continue to relive forgotten decades, consider checking this place out!
